Torquay Museum is always looking for volunteers to join our team.
Volunteers are needed for a variety of different tasks:
- Museum Volunteers help out in a range of ways from cataloguing collections, helping out at reception or in the museum shop, stewardship, helping out at exciting events in and around Torquay, and lots more.
- Educational volunteering helps provide support with school groups and workshops.
- We also offer language placements to foreign students who wish to improve their english skills.

If you enjoy meeting new people and can talk enthusiastically about Torquay Museum then we would love to hear from you. There are two areas in which we are looking for volunteers:
Fairs and Festivals. Torquay Museum is planning to have stalls at the following fairs and festivals and we would like enthusiastic volunteers to help man them in conjunction with Museum staff. So if you could spare a morning or afternoon to help out at any of the following then please contact us on the emails or telephone numbers below:

9am – 4pm, Wednesday 2nd August – Cockington Fayre
9am – 4pm, Friday 4th - Saturday 5th August – Torbay Steam Fayre
9am – 4pm, Tuesday 15th - Saturday 19th August – Children’s Week, Paignton Green
9am – 6pm, Saturday 30th September – Ageing Well Festival, Lupton House, Brixham
Torquay Museum Tour Guides. We would like offer a regular Saturday guided tour of the Museum to visitors – once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Anyone wishing to volunteer as a tour guide will receive full training and support.
