Torquay Museum Society is a Registered Charity that runs a programme of lectures and educational activities with the Museum as its home.
Membership enables you to support the Society’s work and become involved in an active community.
As a Society Member you are able to visit the Museum free of charge as often as you wish throughout the year. The dynamic environment of the Museum, with its varied programme of temporary exhibitions, special events and children’s holiday programmes enables visitors to return time and time again and still see something new.
The Society's year runs from 1st April to 31st March with activities throughout the year and the main lecture season running from October to April.
Membership to the Society entitles you to free entrance to all the Society meetings and lectures as well as being able to join any of the Society Sections, which are currently:
- Archaeology, Geology and Astronomy

- Local History
- Natural History: Botany and Horticulture, Zoology and Ornithology
The annual Lecture Series runs from October to April each year, on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, with a diverse and interesting range of topics being covered – from Local History to Army Life in the 21st Century.
Once you have become a Member of the Society you may wish to consider joining one of the sub-committees who help the Museum in a number of activities and also organise social and fundraising events which members can take part in.
