Imagine My Bay
We are delighted to be hosting an exhibition of animation and documentary film by Torbay Multicultural Group project, as a culmination of ‘Imagine My Bay’.
‘Imagine My Bay’ has been a three month long digital storytelling project for young people from culturally diverse backgrounds, who have been creating films and animations exploring their response to where they live in Torbay.
The project has incorporated animation, dance, drumming and music-making, language sessions and storytelling. Engaging with local schools and families through outreach activity days, it has been an great opportunity to broaden horizons and provide opportunities for young people to learn new skills.
‘Imagine My Bay’ is part of a fantastic programme of inclusive, cross-cultural activities run by Torbay Multicultural Group, a non-profit organisation chaired by Lorrie Layne who also works for Torbay Council Children's Services. You can find out more about Torbay Multicultural Group here.
Arts and multimedia workshops have been delivered with Blazing Tales, a participatory arts company who work across art forms to find new, creative ways of bringing stories to life through music and song writing, visual arts, storytelling, drama, performance, digital art and media. You can find out more about Blazing Tales here.
‘Imagine My Bay’ is funded by Awards for All, through the Big Lottery Fund.
