Claws! The Human History of Cats

Exploring the relationship of cats and humans from distant prehistory until the present day, including cats in Ancient Egypt, Myth and Magic and Man eaters, this exhibition will run until the autumn of 2016 and will include many specimens from our extensive collections.
A brand new exciting English Riviera Cats Trail will be launched on Saturday 28th May by Torquay Museum. You are challenged to find the 20 ceramic cats displayed around Torbay, each with a unique theme and beautifully decorated by local artists and schools. A prize of lots of cat-related goodies for the overall winner is up for grabs.
Trace the eventful life of the best-selling author of all time in this recently re-developed and improved gallery dedicated solely to Agatha Christie – her life, her novels and her plays.
Explore the fascinating artefacts collected by Torquay-based explorers and scholars during their travels across the globe, from the frozen waste of the Antarctic to the depths of the Brazilian rainforest.
Children and families will find plenty to entertain them throughout the museum, with trails and in-gallery activities to keep visitors of all ages learning and exploring! Find the 'Lost Treasure of the Ancients' or solve the 'Curse of the Mummy's Hand' and much more!
