There will be three spell-binding performances at Torquay Museum by storyteller Sara Hurley, who will present Isabella’s Story Bicycle - a bicycling botanist who loves to share stories from her incredible journeys around the world with the people she meets along the way. Performances are at 11am, 2.30pm and 3.30pm. Booking is essential as spaces are limited.
There will also be two hour-long workshops at the Museum, in which children and parents can make their own Treasure Chests. The workshops are at 10am and 11am – booking essential.
Visitors are invited to create a beautiful willow and tissue paper Bee Lantern with Willow artist Vik Westaway in workshops at 1pm and 2pm. Booking essential.
The Day of Celebration is part of a project to mark the founding of Torquay Museum in 1845, which includes a special Secret Museum exhibition featuring 175 fascinating objects from its unique collections. The exhibition will be launched on 12th June and will run until 4th September.
So come and join us on this Day of Celebration – and bring the kids. We're even opening longer than usual - 9.30am - 5.30pm, last admission 4.15pm.
