Brick Built LEGO® Models Exhibition
Date: 25 May 2018 - 8 September 2018
Fans of LEGO®, big and small, are in for a rare treat this summer as a large and exciting exhibition, entitled Brick Built, goes on show at Torquay Museum, showcasing some amazing and enormous models made entirely of LEGO® bricks.
The Brick Built exhibition has been especially created for Torquay Museum by LEGO® artist Warren Elsmore. Visitors can enjoy a celebration of architecture from three of the world’s great cities: New York, Paris and London. They can also discover a selection of the wonders of the world in miniature: historic, modern and natural.
A huge 8 metre airport will form the centrepiece of this stunning exhibition, complete with aircraft, runways, airport buildings and vehicles – the first time this impressive model has been displayed in the UK. There will also be a large scale model of the Forth Road Bridge, hot air balloons, a perfectly executed enormous model of the Palace of Westminster, a huge tug boat, the Eiffel Tower and even Torquay Pavilion, all made in Lego bricks with a great deal of imagination.
The Brick Built Lego models exhibition includes lots of interactive elements so that families can have hands-on fun. There will be play Lego so that visitors can make their own models to be added to a Lego town, a Virtual Reality walk through experience of a Lego themed building, and laptops loaded with special LEGO® Builder software. See Torquay Museum’s website and social media during the summer for details of special Lego-themed summer events.
Brick Built: an Exhibition of LEGO® Models is sponsored by Torquay-based architects, Kay Elliott.
