12 noon and 3.30pm, Friday 16th Feb
12 noon and 3.45pm, Saturday 17th Feb
The hugely talented southwest-based Pocketwatch Theatre Company will showcase its brand new adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows, featuring a cast of talented actors, musicians and enchanting puppets during a week of February Half Term fun at Torquay Museum.
Be transported to the beautiful countryside to follow the grand adventures of Ratty, Mole, Badger and Toad. There's never a dull moment for the inhabitants of the Riverbank, be it messing about in motorcars, the open road, train chases, mischievous weasels or simply splashing about in boats on the river - and of course there’s always time for a picnic!
With stunning hand-crafted puppets and an entirely original score performed live, this classic tale is charmingly brought to life, capturing the imaginations of audiences both young and old alike.
Booking in advance is essential as there are a limited number of seats in the Museum's theatre. Tickets are £10 for adults and £8 for children. Call the Museum on 01803 293975 to reserve your tickets.
There will also be two fun adventure-filled trails around the Museum throughout the Half Term – Find the Lost City of the Ancients and The Search for Z, where children will track down clues hidden around the Museum and win a prize. For those who love their arts and crafts, there are also daily drop-in workshops from 12th – 16th February.
There are lots of other activities for children in this family-friendly museum, where they can hunt down the clues in the spooky Curse of the Mummy's Hand game, and crack the secret code to the safe on the Explorer's Trail. Many of the exhibits are interactive and fun, and are suitable for little hands and curious minds. The Museum even has its very own mummy - if you're brave enough to go and see him.
