The Lost City of Z film screenings

As part of a new collborative partnership with the Barn Cinema, Dartington Hall, there will be a Special Screening of 'The Lost City of Z' at the Barn Cinema on Wednesday 24 May, 8pm. Come & talk to Torquay Museum staff in the Roundhouse Café at the Barn Cinema between 7-8pm and see artefacts used in the film and hear a short presentation prior to the film screening.
'The Lost City of Z' is the incredible true story of Torquay born, explorer Col. Percy Fawcett. At the dawn of the 20th century, Fawcett journeys into the Amazon in search of a lost city. His quest grows into an increasingly feverish, decades-long obsession that takes a toll on his reputation, his family life, and his very existence.
Within the Explorers Gallery at Torquay Museum there is a permanent archive collection of objects belonging to Colonel Percy Harrison Fawcett including diaries, letters, photographs and memorabilia, donated by his granddaughter.
